Biz Cafe Simulation

I took a class my Freshman year at Marquette University called Business Day 1. In this class, we were put into groups and spent the semester working on a simulation that was based off of a cafe. We had different positions such as someone focusing on the finances, one focusing on the marketing, someone focusing on the manager/leadership and one focusing on the day to day operations. My objective throughout the duration of the simulation was to monitor the marketing side of the cafe. For example, how we were going to advertise our business or how we were going to keep any repeat customers that we attract.

Some of the actions I took in order to successfully market our cafe were setting our coffee prices at a reasonable number to increase repeat customers and attract new customers, creating advertising that was appealing to the public, and the location and placement of our cafe.

After a full semester of investing time and effort into the simulation, we had a positive end result. Our team secured third place out of 8 teams overall. Our result came as a grade from categories such as revenue, sales, marketing, and managing the cafe for the allotted time.
