New Shoes is a group project simulation that is part of the curriculum in Intro to Marketing at Marquette University. It is a simulation that teaches you how to manage a shoe company. It takes you from creating a name and a logo, to managing all different services such as finances and advertising costs. Each team competed against one another throughout the duration in each class.
Since there were no assigned parts for this simulation, my partner and I divided the workload evenly. Throughout each week and each decision, we met up to discuss what each of us thought to set the budgets at and our name and logo and why we choose what we did. From there, we negotiated and mutually agreed on numbers and advertising tactics to better grow our company and succeed.
Our final result was successful. After our last decision, we had landed in the 3rd place spot overall out of 12 teams in our class. Our grades for the project determined how we placed in the ranking, which did positively affect our overall grade.
